Sources say next entry in 5th Cell's series a DC superheroes game that may be announced at E3 in June.
Maxwell's next Scribblenauts adventure will see the protagonist team up with DC superheroes. That's according to sources speaking with IGN, who said 5th Cell's next entry in the series will feature the DC Comics license and include characters like Batman and Joker.
The game was at one point titled Scribblenauts Unmasked, the sources said, though the project is no going through "some alterations from its original design." The title may change, but the game's DC license is the focus.
Concerning story, the game at one point reportedly starred series protagonist Maxwell and tracked his attempts to help various DC characters in a variety of missions. However, IGN points out that this all could change before the game's rumored announcement for PC, Wii U, and 3DS at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.
The game reportedly features characters like Killer Croc, Clayface, Aquaman, Black Manta, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Batman, Robin, and Batgirl, as well as venues like the Batcave, the sewers underneath Wayne Manor, and Atlantis.
5th Cell created the Scribblenauts franchise, which has been an annualized series since its inception. Previously released games include the 2009 original DS game, 2010's Super Scribblenauts, 2011's Scribblenauts Remix, and 2012's Scribblenauts Unlimited.
In the games, Maxwell can write almost any word and have the object manifested in the gameworld.
