We hope Nicki Minaj is taking a swim in her money "DuckTales" style after today's big announcement -- according to Forbes, the Harajuku Barbie will be the face of a new Pepsi beverage that's debuting this spring. And unlike your paycheck or mine, Nicki scored a multimillion dollar deal. Pockets eating cheesecake, indeed. ("Name that Nicki Minaj guest spot for $200, Alex.")
We like this business decision for a lot of reasons: 1) Homegirl's a rapper from southside Jamaica, Queens. She probably never imagined such a huge corporate sponsorship, and that's really cool in our book. 2) Can you even imagine the print adds? I hope they come with 3-D glasses and a free MAC lipstick. 3) Young Money fo shizzzzzz! Nicki was named a top "Hip-Hop Earner" in 2011 by Forbes, and we're pretty sure this partnership will likely keep her up there. Go, women!
Congrats to Nicki Minaj on her new Pepsi deal! Not only do I look forward to explaining to my uncle who's on his soda can and why she's making that face, but I'm also about to quote 50 Cent: "If they hate then let 'em hate and watch the money pile up." I wish I could quote 50 in every Buzzworthy post.
Stay tuned for Nicki Minaj's first Pepsi commercial, hitting airwaves in the next month or two.
