Nosferatu Remake Lands Bill Skarsgard And Lily-Rose Depp

Much like the vampire itself, Robert Eggers' remake of Nosferatu has been difficult to kill. After losing revealing he had lost his leads back in March, the director had been trying to get his version off the ground for five years, but seemingly had given up hope. Well, Bill Skarsgard and Lily-Rose Depp have now been cast and the movie is back on track, Deadline reports.

Eggers had already co-directed a stage production of the film in high school. He had originally cast Ana Taylor-Joy for the project, who also starred in his first feature film The Witch. Joining Taylor-Joy was Harry Styles, who has been building a bigger Hollywood resume as of late, but both stars dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Eggers ultimately paused on the movie and moved on to his Viking pic The Northman, which hit theaters and streaming in April.

Skarsgard is coming off his hit horror pic Barbarian, which he also executive produced, and a very busy 2023 ahead. His upcoming projects include the Netflix thriller Boy Kills World and John Wick: Chapter 4. He also is attached to star in The Crow reboot with Rupert Sanders directing. The actor has established himself as a contemporary horror icon as of late, most notably as Pennywise in the remake of Stephen King's It.
