New York Comic-Con is back in person and the cosplay is better than ever.
While conventions never really went away through the COVID pandemic, going digital just didn't have the same impact. Sure, the panels were all there and the exclusives were all for purchase, but there's something about wandering around a convention center in person to stumble upon countless talented cosplayers all bringing their A-game. Which, coincidentally, is exactly what we did at this year's New York Comic-Con. The Javits Center was once again alive with brightly colored costumed characters as far as the eye could see and we fought through the crowds to try and get some shots of the best of them. This year saw representation from all kinds of fandom, from anime to sci-fi and fantasy to video games, and, of course, a healthy amount of mash-ups that blended any number of genres and characters. We spotted plenty of Stranger Things love this year, as well as a ton of One Piece and Naruto--both of which just so happened to have massive booths on the show floor for fans to flock to. There were also plenty of the classics like Star Wars and Dragon Ball, as well as some up-and-comers like Chainsaw Man running around the show. This is only a small taste of what the convention had to offer across its four days. Were you at the con? What were your favorite costumes? What surprised you? Let us know in the comments below!
