Overwatch 2 Season 9 Patch Notes Overhaul Competitive, Add Co-Op Event And New Skins

Ahead of its release on February 13, Blizzard has released the full patch notes for Overwatch 2's Season 9: Champions. The patch brings an all-new co-op event, and both old and new skins to commemorate Valentine's Day. This update also includes an immense number of hero changes, including increases to Ultimate ability costs, passive health regeneration, and higher damage for melee attacks.

Season 9 of Overwatch will soft reset every player's Competitive rank and reintroduces placement matches to better determine your starting rank placement. After each match, there will be a clearer overview to help players understand rank changes and progression. There will also be a new rank above Grandmaster with the Champion rank and Jade weapon variants are introduced that can be purchased for 3,000 Competitive Points.

Season 9 will increase the health, armor, and shields of every character, with Ultimate ability costs increasing by 10% alongside passive health regeneration of 20 health per second after five seconds of not receiving damage.
