The Paramount+ streaming service has seen quite a bit of growth since its rebranding from CBS All Access earlier this year. Paramount+ reached 35.9 million subscribers by the end of the first quarter of 2021, up six million from the end of 2020. During a ViacomCBS investor call, the company revealed the numbers for Paramount+ in Q1, which ended on March 31. Interestingly enough, CBS All Access rebranded itself as Paramount+ on March 4, so subscriber numbers will undoubtedly continue to grow by the end of Q2. Following the success of Paramount+'s release of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, it was announced during the investor call that the streaming service will launch one original movie a week in 2022. However, there is a bit of a caveat to that. This will also include movies that hit the service after the 45-day theatrical window. Films like A Quiet Place: Part 2, Mission Impossible 7, No Time To Die arriving on Paramount+ 45 days after they've premiered in theaters would be included in this "one original movie a week."
