The entire Harry Potter film series is about to get a new streaming home. Peacock has announced that all eight films based on author J. K. Rowling's novels will be available to stream for free in windows over the next six months starting later this year and into 2021. The films were a surprise part of HBO Max's launch three months ago on May 27, but that availability window is closing on August 25. No further information about Peacock's timing was given. "The Harry Potter franchise is beloved by people of all ages and represents the caliber of quality entertainment customers can expect to find on Peacock," said Frances Manfredi, president of content acquisition and strategy for Peacock. "We've built a world-class collection of iconic movies and shows, and we will continue to expand the film library with treasured titles from NBCUniversal and beyond that will surprise and delight Peacock customers time and time again." Peacock's free, ad-supported tier has roughly 13,000 hours of programming. Peacock Premium boosts that to 20,000 hours for a monthly $5 charge, though some customers can get it at no cost via pay-TV and other providers. Continue Reading at GameSpot
