Marvel Studios may have found its Reed Richards for the upcoming Fantastic Four film, as Deadline reports that three-time Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal is in talks for the superhero role. Scheduling details are still pending, but unnamed sources suggest a positive trajectory for Pascal's involvement in the project, along with his commitments to Gladiator 2 and the HBO series The Last of Us. The negotiations are said to be in the final stages, though Marvel has not provided an official comment to Deadline. Once this role is confirmed, production is set to move forward with offers to other potential cast members. Shooting is expected to begin early next year, with director Matt Shakman overseeing the project at Pinewood Studios in England, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige serving as the producer. This week, news surfaced that production on Season 2 of The Last of Us could kick off on January 7, 2024. The TV adaptation of the popular Naughty Dog game series premiered in January 2023, quickly achieving success. HBO promptly approved a second season, but the Hollywood writer and actor strikes caused delays. Now that the strikes are resolved, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann can move forward with their plans for Season 2.
