One perk of tuning into the 2012 MTV Movie Awards pre-show this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET — which features an all-new episode of "Punk'd" — is that fans will get a first look at the trailer for the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's beloved coming-of-age tale "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." (MTV Books)
Stars Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller will be on hand at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 3, to introduce the exclusive clip and, in anticipation of the big reveal, we have a tiny tease to preview!
Lerman stars as titular wallflower Charlie, who embarks upon his freshman year in high school as a relative outcast. That is, until he befriends (or, perhaps more accurately, is befriended by) step-siblings Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Miller). The film deals with familiar themes of teen angst, with plenty of sex, drugs and rock and roll to go around, but it's love that's at the heart of this 10-second tease.
"Why do I and everyone I love pick people who treat us like we're nothing?" asks Sam, as scenes of her high-school life flash by. "We accept the love we think we deserve," Charlie answers sagely.
