The world of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a long history of fun crossovers dating back to the original Mirage comic book in the ’80s. Playmates Toys has also had great success in their decades with the license having the toy line cross over into other licenses as well.
When it comes to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Playmates has several decades of great licensed mashups under their belts dating all the way back to their original vintage line in the 1980s and into 90’s. The gang at Playmates Toys are keeping that fun alive with this new cinematic action figure crossover that shipped to store just a few weeks ago.
Earlier this year we were treated to TMNT crossing over with WWE and just a few months ago, just in time for Halloween, we saw them crossover with some classic monsters. Now get the turtle brothers have crossed over with one of the greatest comedy film franchises of all time – Ghostbusters. There were 4 Ghostbusters and there are 4 Turtles so it’s a match made in the afterlife!
Each figure comes with a PK Meter and a (closed) ghost trap:
Each figure comes with a removable proton pack with wand:
Each wand has a non-removable proton stream that has a spinning feature to simulate shooting at a ghost. The wands can be stored on the side of the packs when not in use:

Mike as Peter Venkman
Each figure comes with a compact, translucent plastic “ghost companion” from the film:
These are in stores now. I have not seen them in my local stores yet because there are still WWE/TMNT figures on the shelves. Both series share the same DPCI at Target stores. But I have seen reports of people finding them in other parts of the country. They are well worth tracking down and make for a fun addition to your collection.
These samples were provided by Playmates Toys.
