Following last week's official NBA 2K16 announcement, developer 2K Sports on Tuesday revealed various preorder bonuses for the professional basketball game. The marquee offer is what 2K is calling an "Early Tip-Off Weekend." Anyone who preorders the game at stores or online will get to play four days early, meaning September 25 instead of September 29. On top of this, people who preorder will receive the following in-game items: - 10,000 Virtual Currency (VC);
- MyTEAM VIP Package:
- New-Gen & PC - 3 MyTEAM Emerald Packs each with a guaranteed Emerald player;
- Prior-Gen - MyTEAM Gold Booster Pack with Guaranteed Gold Player and 4 additional Gold items.
Paying for early access to upcoming games isn't exactly a new concept. One example is EA Access, which lets subscribers play unreleased games ahead of time for $5/month or $30/year, NBA 2K16 was announced last week during an earnings call. 2K Sports hasn't announced firm details about the changes and improvements compared to last year's game, but the developer is not holding back in boasting about its potential. “NBA 2K16 promises to be one of the most groundbreaking sports titles in video game history, combining exciting new features with uncanny realism," NBA 2K vice president of marketing Alfie Brody said in a statement. Series developer Visual Concepts is working on NBA 2K16, which will be released across Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
