New offer grants free copy of PS Vita version with purchase of PS3 iteration of upcoming games; promotion kicks off with PS All-Stars Battle Royale.
Gamers who purchase this November's PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for the PlayStation 3 will score a free copy of the PlayStation Vita version, Sony Europe CEO Jim Ryan announced today at the company's briefing at Gamescom 2012.
The offer is part of Sony's new Cross Buy promotion, which also extends to Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault. No further titles were mentioned.
The announcement of Sony's new Cross Buy promotion does not come as a total surprise. In June, a Sony survey suggested the company was interested in making available such an offer. At the time, it was believed that this would be a PlayStation Plus subscriber-only offer, but Sony made no mention of limiting the promotion to subscribers today during its briefing.
