Part of the Chu! Collection, the “very chubby” Ozeki Panda figure sports an iconic topknot, prayer beads and mawashi (traditional sumo loincloth). Standing just short of 7 inches tall, our sumo champion is guaranteed to dominate any shelf lucky enough to hold up his warrior’s girth. Ozeki Panda joins Soup Dragon, the first Chu! release, which sold out in a matter of hours.

The four-inch-tall Salaryman, the first release in the Shiba Inu collection, is balancing work and play in this depiction of the Japanese white-collar worker, starring Japan’s most popular pooch. The Salaryman is the first of six figures planned for the Shina Inu line, Qrew’s first closed collection.

“The advantage of a closed collection is customers know the figures in that collection are all there will ever be,” Gore said. “You know there won’t be variants, special editions, gold editions, yada yada, diluting the uniqueness of the original figures in the collection.”
