Hi, my name is Elliott and I’m 5 & 3/4 years old. I’ve been asked by Action Figure Insider to review the new Convention Exclusive Hasbro KRE-O Sgt. Slaughter “Construction Commandos” box set. I’m really excited because it comes with TEN minifigures and a neat tank called the “Triple ‘T'”! My stepdad, DD, says this is “full-circle nostalgia”. He told me a story about when he was 13 years old and the original Sgt. Slaughter and Triple ‘T’ came out. He thought it was so awesome and every week he would look at it in a catalog at the Sears Mail-Order store. As cool as DD thought it was, he never did get it. Boo-hoo.
I like the packaging. Especially the big picture of Sgt. Slaughter.
There is an outer slipcase that holds three boxes. The two smaller outside packages house the minifigure sets and the middle package contains the Triple ‘T’.
DD says the packing reminds him of VHS cassette tape sleeves. Whatever that means.
The minifigure card backs look like some of DD’s old G.I. Joe figure packages.
Oh cool! If you turn the boxes around they make Destro’s face. DD just told me he would explain what “Pimp Daddy” means when I get older.
Oh yes, one of the figures comes with a dog!
Let’s open this thing!
First, we will put the minifigures together.
By far my favorite is Destro. Gold is my favorite color and he has a GOLD HEAD! And a sword. And his cape looks really comfortable.
[DD here. Elliott just yelled up to me: “Hey Deeds (short for DD), my G.I. Joes are having an epic battle!”]
I was really nervous because when I took the minifigures out of the package the dog wasn’t there. But when we opened the Triple ‘T’ box we found him with the other parts. Whew!
Building time!
Easy peasy.
I like the pieces with stuff on them. I was excited to put the G.I. Joe piece on.
Finally I get to attach the wheels!
Just learned a new word: ‘treads’.
This think is amazing!
Thanks for sending AFi this set to review, Hasbro people! I guess you guys also did a review. Not as good as this one, but maybe you added a detail or two I overlooked.
Junkyard is SO cute.
