Microsoft announces release date for Xbox One. Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will be released on November 22. The company also confirmed yesterday that the Xbox One's CPU would be boosted 150MHz to 1.75GHz, and that the next-gen system is in full production ahead of its launch. Microsoft senior director Albert Penello spoke to GameSpot last weekend at PAX about the system, including why the machine was worth the $100 premium over its rival the PlayStation 4. The Xbox One will arrive days after Sony's PlayStation 4 in North America, which will launch on November 15 for $399, but before the PS4's European launch on November 29. The Xbox One, which costs $499/€499/£429, comes with one controller, a Kinect sensor, a headset microphone, and a HDMI cable. Customers who have preordered the Xbox One Day One Edition in Europe will also receive a free download code for FIFA 14. 23 games will be available for Xbox One at launch, including exclusive titles Dead Rising 3, Zoo Tycoon, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Killer Instinct. The Xbox One will be released in this year in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, and New Zealand. Though Microsoft previously announced that the Xbox One would also be available before the end of 2013 in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland, the company announced in August that these countries would not see the machine until 2014.
