While the primary focus of Nintendo's Treehouse Live July 2020 stream was Paper Mario: The Origami King, we also got our first look at a brand-new game from WayForward, the developer of the Shantae series and River City Girls. That title is Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia, and it arrives on Switch later this year. Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia is an action-RPG with a unique battle system that blends real-time and turn-based elements. The game features an original storyline with over 100 quests to take on, as well as more than 80 Bakugan to collect. As part of the story, you'll be taking part in a series of Bakugan tournaments while also investigating abnormal earthquake activity that's been happening in town.
During brawls, you'll be running around the field in real-time collecting energy cores for your Bakugan while it does battle. As you collect cores, you'll charge up powerful abilities that your Bakugan can then unleash.
