Newest add-on for Elder Scrolls V coming to Xbox 360 for $20 early next month; no word on launch for PS3 or PC; new enemies, locations, and rideable dragons shown.
The rumor was right. The next expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is called Dragonborn and will launch for Xbox 360 gamers December 4. The content costs 1,600 Microsoft points, or $20, and its first trailer is embedded below.
Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC was hinted at last month, when a Bethesda forum user found source code that contained frequent mention of the words "Dragonborn" and "DLC2." The content was at the time rumored to allow users to ride dragons. This has not been confirmed, though the trailer strongly suggests that this will be the case.
Dragonborn will follow previously released DLC for Skyrim that includes Dawnguard and Hearthfire. Both are currently available for Xbox 360 and PC, but potentially unsolvable issues have kept these add-ons from PlayStation 3.
Publisher Bethesda previously stated that missing Skyrim DLC for PS3 is the company's fault and not that of Sony. Bethesda vice president of public relations and marketing Pete Hines said at the time, "We have never blamed anyone or anything. It's our problem, and it's on us to solve it."
