Invizimals: The Long Kingdom and The Alliance compatible with each other via cross-play features.
New Invizimals games are in development for the PlayStation 3 and Vita, Sony has announced.
Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom is being developed for the PlayStation 3 by Buzz Jr creator Magenta Software. Developed for a younger audience, the game casts players as a character, Hiro, who finds himself in the world of the game's titular creatures. Hiro will be able to transform into an Invizimal and must do battle with a robot army.
Meanwhile, Invizimals: The Alliance is being developed for the PlayStation Vita by series developer Novarama Technology. Like its PSP predecessors, Invizimals: The Alliance is an augmented-reality game that has players seek out and battle a range of creatures in real-world environments.
The two games will make use of Sony's cross-play technology. Sony says players can transfer characters from the Vita to the PS3 to take part in four-person multiplayer battles, for instance.
No release dates were provided for the two games by Sony.
Sony's Invizimals franchise has seen three games on the PSP. The last game, Invizimals: The Lost Tribes, was released in 2011.
A 26-episode Invizimals animated series is also in production, Sony said.
