SCEE executive says "we need to have something to show at Gamescom, don't we?"
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan has spoken about the company's relatively thin unveiling of new first-party titles for the PlayStation 4 at its E3 2013 press conference, but has emphasised that there's a "lot coming" from the company.
Ryan also hinted that Sony will make announcements at August's Gamescom trade show in Cologne, Germany.
Speaking in an interview with Gamereactor, Ryan said "there's a lot coming. I'm sure you heard from [Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios] that he has, just his studios, he has 30 games in development. 20 are going to ship within the first year of the console's life, and of those 12 are new IP. So there's a lot going on, it's just we need to keep stuff back."
Sony unveiled Ready at Dawn's The Order: 1886 at its E3 2013 press conference. During the announcement of the PlayStation 4 in February, Sony debuted Knack, inFamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and DriveClub.
"We've Gamescom for us Europeans, and we need to have something to show at Gamescom, don't we?" concluded Ryan.
The PlayStation 4 will launch later in 2013 for $399. Gamescom will take place this year from August 21 through 25.
