Sony’s Spider-Man Universe Movie Kraven The Hunter Adds White Lotus Star As Chameleon – Report

Actor Fred Hechinger, who recently had a memorable turn as the screen-addicted teenager turned rafting enthusiast in HBO's White Lotus, has reportedly joined the cast of Marvel's Kraven the Hunter. Deadline, citing an unconfirmed report via unnamed sources, is indicating that Hechinger will play Chameleon.

As the character's name suggests, Chameleon is renowned as a master of disguises in the Marvel universe. If the casting announcement proves true, Hechinger--who spent most of White Lotus glued to a Nintendo Switch--will likely be a surprising and interesting choice. The ensemble overall is shaping up well, with Russell Crowe and Aaron Taylor-Johnson being among the first names announced so far.

The film, titled Kraven the Hunter, is currently scheduled to hit theaters on January 13, 2023. The movie--once long-rumored--is one of many Spider-Man characters getting their own big-screen treatment in the growing Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Other films in the growing universe include Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and the much-delayed Morbius film starring Jared Leto (which last month was at the last minute pushed back to April 1, 2022). A Madame Web movie or potentially series is also currently taking shape--actor Dakota Johnson (The Peanut Butter Falcon, The Social Network) is in consideration for the titular role.
