Katy Perry and John Mayer ARE HOLDING HANDS (AGAIN). WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Stop everything you're doing and please help us analyze the above photo of Katy Perry and John Mayer. We're no celebrity body language expert (when will that be a legit college major, BTW!?), but hand-holding is a probably a sure sign that these two are officially back on. Oh, and this ain't no "grab my hand to help me walk in these too-tall heels" hand-hold. There's some romantic finger-clasping going on here! But most important: WHAT IS IN THAT BLUE TIFFANY'S BAG IN JOHN'S OTHER HAND!? Not sure if you're aware, but Tiffany's sells these little items called engagement rings -- IS THERE A RING FOR KATY IN THAT BAG?!

The on-again-off-again couple looked pretty back together while strolling out of New York City's Waldorf Astoria hand-in-hand. Obviously we're a little thunderstruck by this moment, but then again, we're not TOO surprised, given Katy's recent comments in Vogue. To refresh your memory, Katy said that she was still "madly in love" with Mayer and mentioned that he had a "beautiful mind, tortured soul..." And last, but not least: "I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."

OK, we're not gonna judge -- love is love. Besides, we know how it goes! We've had intense relationships before! Well... our complicated love affair may have been with Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby ice cream and not a hunky musician, but IT WAS STILL SO EFFING HARD TO LET GO.
