The Wanted pay tribute to *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" in a photo from their "Walks Like Rihanna" video.
Question: What's better than a hot British boy band that can sing and dance, and often appears shirtless? Answer: A boy band that does all of those things AND channels the moves of other awesome boy bands! (But not in a copycat way, obs.) Of course we're referring to The Wanted channeling *NSYNC in their forthcoming "Walks Like Rihanna" video, where they're strung up in a makeshift theater JUST LIKE Justin Timberlake & Co. were in their "Bye Bye Bye" video! Remember that?! The Wanted sure do know their history. (And probably also their calculus.)
Compare and contrast The Wanted and *NSYNC's video stills after the jump!
Remember the original "Bye Bye Bye"?? Pretty close! Ain't no lie.
The "I Found You" singers uploaded the video still on Twitter with the anticipatory caption "5 hours to go!!! #WalksLikeRihannaVideo." And this isn't the only thing The Wanted pay homage to in their new clip -- check out this photo where the boys re-create Take That's "Back For Good" video! So of course now we're wondering what other late '90s/early '00s boy band videos The Wanted plan to replicate in "Walks Like Rihanna." Will they pull anything from Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way"? Or perhaps 98 Degrees' "The Hardest Thing?" OK, we should really stop now before we relive our entire middle school dance phase. We can't go back to that #awkwardlife.
