Paramount SVP Brian Miller reportedly leaving the company after 14 years following poor reception of recent licensed game.

Paramount SVP Brian Miller, who worked as producer on Star Trek: The Video Game, is leaving the company after 14 years, according to a report from Hollywood news site Deadline.

His reported departure from Paramount comes after Star Trek: The Video Game was widely panned upon release in late April.

Miller led the promotional campaign for the project, talking up the game for press at various events prior to release. His tenure at Paramount was reportedly tied to the fate of the game.

Star Trek movie producer J.J. Abrams called the game a "big disappointment" and said that it even could have negatively impacted Star Trek: Into Darkness. The game was developed by Digital Extremes (The Darkness II) and featured voicework from the movie's actors.

Miller will continue at his post of SVP of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships and Consumer Products through the end of the year as part of a mutual decision, the report claims.
