A couple of times a year Target stores set up special holiday sections of the stores. We’ve reported on some of the past sales and items. We are heading into Spring soon, so that means Easter is just around the corner. That means that the holiday section has been over run with eggs, decorating kits, bunnies, baskets, candy and some toys!
This year’s crop seem a bit underwhelming in comparison to what we have seen at past Easters and other holidays. There are no exclusive figures (even repaints), the Lego set isn’t licensed and many of the items just feel like rack toys with licenses slapped on them. I know it’s $5 and under, but there has been some fun stuff the past 2 years that just aren’t part of the 2014 Easter line-up. Despite that there are still some old stand-bys as part of the Easter 2014 offering:
Of course there is a Hot Wheels set:
…some kids from the Barbie line:
The Lego set is a race car from their “Creator” series:
There are some blind bagged Angry Birds figures:
There is a set of dinosaur figures that are actually puzzles:
And a couple of different Lego knock off sets:
Everything else I saw falls more into the “rack toy” category with DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Disney characters and Ninja Turtles just slapped on items:
Of course there are some pre-filled licensed “eggs”:
But I think my FAVORITE thing I saw (apart from the giant Recee’s Peanut Butter filled egg the size of a human liver) was the “hard to find” camouflaged eggs in both the indoor and outdoor varieties from Wonka:
