German supermodel Heidi Klum will host the 2012 MTV EMA!

Guys! So you know this little thing called the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards? You know, that excuse to celebrate our Europhile-ness AND everyone's chance to honor their favorite music stars on an international level? (We like to think big around here.) Well anyway, we just found out something VITAL: This year's EMA host will be none other than German top model, fashion heavy hitter, and Project Runway host Heidi Klum! And how fitting, too, since this year's awards will be held in Frankfurt, Germany. Don't you love it when everything comes together so serendipitously? Please excuse us while we picture Klum walking onstage in (fashionable) lederhosen eating a giant pretzel and a schnitzel sandwich. And holding a beer. Anyway..

And as if you need another reason to watch, we'll also go ahead and remind you that this year's EMA nominees include Rihanna and Taylor Swift (both ladies topped the nom list with six and five nods, respectively), Justin Bieber and Katy Perry (each grabbed four EMA nominations apiece), M.I.A., Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Calvin Harris, and Psy (all nominated for Best Video). Also, Rita Ora, fun., One Direction, Lana Del Rey, and Carly Rae Jepsen are all up for Best New.
