The Book Of Boba Fett’s Opening Was Predicted By Patton Oswalt In 2013

As it turns out, back in 2013 comedian and actor Patton Oswalt accurately predicted nearly every detail of The Book of Boba Fett's opening scenes during an improvised monologue on the sitcom Parks and Recreation.

Oswalt's character, Garth Blundin, delivered a nine-minute speech--a filibuster blocking Amy Poehler's character, Leslie Knope--that wasn't scripted. Oswalt, clearly sticking to a subject he knows well, lays out his dream scenario for how Boba Fett escaped certain death after falling in the Sarlacc pit. But, just like The Simpsons has repeatedly done, he wound up prophesizing correctly.

"We pan down from the twin suns of Tatooine," said Oswalt as Blundin. "We are now close on the mouth of the Sarlacc pit. After a beat, the gloved Mandalorian armor gauntlet of Boba Fett grabs onto the sand outside the Sarlacc pit, and the feared bounty hunter pulls himself from the maw of the sand beast."
