Before The Boys became its own franchise on Prime Video, with two spin-off series to date and potentially a third to come, series creator Eric Kripke predicted that the show would come to a conclusion after five seasons. The original comic book series by Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson also had a finite run. However, with the fourth season premiering later this month, Kripke is walking back on the idea that The Boys Season 5 will be the end of the show. "I have learned since then to not try to call the seasons as the person who, and this is without hyperbole, is literally the most wrong in entertainment history of how many seasons their show should go," Kriple told Inverse. "Someone pointed that out to me and I was like, 'You're right. That's ridiculous. I need to keep my mouth shut.' And so I will." What Kripke is referring to his is prediction that his previous series, Supernatural, would last for five seasons.
