Meet Lord Huron, the new kings of folk rock.

If Lord Huron's not ruling your ears yet, it's time to start watching the folk-rock throne. The Los Angeles band's widescreen musicianship brims with Caribbean percussion and hazy harmonies, a laid-back combination that steps into a sprint at their enthusiastic live shows. After a pair of critically-acclaimed EPs, the group will release its full-length debut with Oct. 9's Lonesome Dreams, setting the stage for all fall bonfire/cider-drinking/sweater-wearing soundtracks. The audio-visual brainchild of frontman Ben Schneider, the Michigan native played a key role in the band's Old West-inspired imagery (when he's not singing those sweet, sweet melodies, of course).

Lord Huron's blend of vibed-out songwriting and instrumental chops on "She Lit a Fire" and "The Stranger" remind us of classic Dave Matthews Band tracks "#41" and "Lover Lay Down" (in the best possible way, promise!), but don't worry, Lord Huron totally has enough indie cred to live on your Fleet Foxes playlist. While they've opened for indie acts such as Divine Fits and Avi Buffalo, Lord Huron has also earned festival gigs at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, a major score for the then-unsigned unsigned act -- not to mention buzz-making gigs at CMJ and SXSW. Lonesome Dreams lands on L.A.'s IAMSOUND, the label that discovered Florence + The Machine, so don't be surprised if you find Lord Huron still gently breaking hearts at award ceremonies and outdoor theaters in the days to come.
