The Flaming Lips attempt to break world record for most live concerts in 24 hours (multiple cities).

If you're going to work to break a world record in a particularly insane manner, it's good to go big. It's good to have The Flaming Lips lead the charge. After all, these dudes do things like make a 24-hour song and house it in a real human skull and draw blood from their song collaborators to swirl into their vinyl records. So what kind of cray-cray creative thing do they have planned next? Wayne Coyne and Co. are gunning to break Guinness World Records' title for Most Live Concerts 24 Hours (Multiple Cities) and they're doing it during O Music Awards June 27-28, with the help of some talented friends.

Joining the fun are Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Gary Clark Jr., Hunter Hayes, GIVERS, Neon Indian, Grimes and New Fumes. And even more artists will be announced soon. So you may be asking, just how the eff is this thing going down? The Lips' will begin their day-long, multiple concert tour in Memphis and make stops in Clarksdale, Jackson, Hattiesburg, and Biloxi, Mississippi and then swing by Baton Rouge and New Orleans. No bigs! One of the aforementioned bands will perform a full opening set in each city in anticipation of The Lips' arrival. If you're lucky enough to live in one of those cities, tickets go on sale today and part of the proceeds will benefit VH1's Save The Music Foundation.

Meanwhile for the rest of us who live in the middle of nowhere, the O Music Awards will live stream the entire endeavor and capture the bands' every move and each of the eight shows... Eight shows in 24-hours in separate cities? That s**** cray. Ain't it, Jay? We'll guess Jay-Z will agree as Hova's the current record holder.
