Season 2 of The Mandalorian will premiere in Fall 2020, producer Jon Favreau has confirmed. The Star Wars TV show's first series premiered in November with the launch of Disney+. Deadline reports that "several established characters" from the Skywalker Saga series of movies may appear in The Mandalorian Season 2. However, no specifics have been confirmed yet. The Mandalorian Season 1 stars Game of Thrones and Narcos actor Pedro Pascal, with a cast that also includes Gina Carano, Giancarlo Espositio, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte, among others. The Mandalorian is the first Star Wars live-action TV show. Favreau created and was the executive producer on the show. Some of his past work has included Elf and Iron Man.
Episode 8, Redemption, was directed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi--it premiered on December 27. It was the final episode in Season 1, and Favreau confirmed Season 2 not long after the chapter debuted on Disney's streaming service.
