Titanic: The Exhibition Review

It’s been 84 years…actually it’s been over 100 but Titanic is back. Currently James Cameron’s classic is back in theaters celebrating a quarter of a century of giving us one of the greatest romances to ever set sail. You can watch the movie but if you want to fully submerge yourself in the history of the Ship of Dreams then Titanic: The Exhibition is the perfect activity for you and your family.

The Titanic is one of the greatest tragedies in history and this immersive experience gives due deference to the whole story. As you walk in you’re greeted by an amazing scale model of the Jewel of the White Star line that does its best to capture the grandeur of the real thing. A host gives you a brief presentation that provides you with a fact-filled primer that then leads you to a fun photo-op and the rest of the self-guided exhibition itself.

The experience takes you through the history of the Titanic from its inception, construction, and eventual destruction. You walk through several rooms filled with artifacts, photographs, ship recreations, and even movie props that truly do their job giving you the education on an event that still manages to capture the imagination of audiences to this day. I enjoyed seeing real items from the boat and found walking through some of the recreated portions of the deck/hallways really fun.

This was a very well put together way to learn about a piece of history. My 5 year old son was thoroughly entertained by this and I was pleasantly surprised that he didn’t need animatronic dinosaurs to hold his attention. Others seemed to be very much into it as well, I loved seeing people dressed to the nines as if they were actually getting on the Titanic. If you’re a fan of the film or a history buff then I would highly recommend Titanic: The Exhibition. LA residents can purchase tickets Here and New York residents can purchase tickets Here.
