Designer vinyl art toys licensed from the original Trash Bag Bunch mini figures of the early 90s now on Kickstarter
The basic goal of this project is to factory produce original vinyl toys licensed from the 1991 toy series, Trash Bag Bunch. These are new, larger-scale toys, based on the characters from the classic toy line. Trash Bag Bunch XL are four times the size of the original mini figures with added detail and articulation. Designed, sculpted, and prototyped by hand.
Wait a minute…What’s Trash Bag Bunch?
I’m glad you asked. Trash Bag Bunch was a set of mini figures released by Galoob in 1991. It had a great play gimmick where the toys were packed in little trash bags and you didn’t know what toy you had until you dropped the bag into water where it would dissolve; frothing and foaming to reveal your new toy! Who or what is Last Resort Toys and how is LRT qualified to make these collectibles?
Last Resort Toys is a company started by me, Bryan Fulk (the guy typing this and also talking at you in that video up there). I’ve been making a living as an artist for about a decade. Working mostly in the film industry as a propmaker, I’m very experienced with sculpting, tooling, and prototyping.
Having also created special effects makeup prosthetics, puppets, costumes and working with galleries, museums, and other independent artists, I know how to execute a project utilizing a variety of media, materials, and design approaches. Furthermore, toys are my lifelong passion and I have sculpted collectibles for companies including ThreeZero, October Toys, Trick or Treat Studios, and Pop Culture Shock on properties including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Masters of the Universe, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Evil Dead.
I want to take all my passion and experience across industries and companies and funnel it into my own company and projects to create the kinds of art and collectibles that I would display on my own shelves. Trash Bag Bunch XL will be the launch of my company, and a foundation upon which I hope it will grow to create many more collectibles.

Liceplant and Muckoid:
Liceplant is 9 inches tall (about 23cm) and 7.5 inches wide (19cm). Muckoid is 7.5 inches tall (19cm) and nearly as deep and wide. The larger scale has allowed for increased detail, more intricate paint schemes, and the addition of articulation. Liceplant has 2 points of articulation at the arms, and Muckoid has 6 points of articulation: both arms, and a swivel on all four eyes. Due to the extra parts and more complicated design, Muckoid’s production costs are higher, as reflected in the price.
Muckoid’s also got a delectable underside…no additional cost for that, it’s simply there for your enjoyment, free of charge.
A pre-order exclusive colorway of both toys is available only here on Kickstarter. These paint schemes are based on the pre-production photos of the second series of Trash Bag Bunch, many of which were never produced. We’ve got a red and blue Liceplant, and an orange and blue Muckoid. If you want these uniquely colored figures–consider this Kickstarter campaign your only way to get them!

Furthermore, I am excited to offer the 12 original mini figure sculpts from Trash Bag Bunch Series 2 that were grossly underproduced in 1992. This is the first time these have been made available to the public at large as they were only released in very small numbers in Scandinavia over 25 years ago. Made from molds of the original toys, they will be hand-cast and painted, only made available in small batches, and marked on the bottoms with ‘LRT 2018’. They will still be kept relatively limited starting with the available sets on this Kickstarter. But don’t worry if you miss them or want a reward tier that doesn’t include them, I will release more batches in the near future. Here’s your chance to complete that collection! Shown below is a set I have cast and painted from my molds as samples of what you will receive.
Here’s a photo of the complete set of series 2 prototypes including these 12 new figures. The only ones that saw production are the left half.
I have created an abundance of reward tiers to accommodate the wide variety of combinations of products. They’re explained in detail below, and a bit more concisely to the right where you can select your reward. Nearer the bottom is an explanation of some aspects of the production process, funds allocation, and some of what to expect at the conclusion of this campaign.
