Twitch Leaks Destiny 2’s Upcoming Prime Freebies

Twitch leaked info about an upcoming partnership with Bungie that'll give in-game Destiny 2 gear to Twitch Prime subscribers. Eagle-eyed Guardians caught sight of a banner on Twitch advertising Legendary and Exotic items for subscribers. The banner was subsequently taken down--but Twitch's embargo has lifted, confirming Prime subscribers will get loot drops starting on January 29.

An image of the banner was posted on Reddit by user SkaterCobe, which you can check out right here. The advertisement says you'll be able to get claim "Exotic and Legendary Gear" at twitchprime.com, but didn't go into any details about what that loot might be. It's not clear when the offer might go into effect. According to Twitch, each drop comes with four rewards, including Exotic weapons, Ghosts, ships, Sparrows, emotes, and weapon ornaments from previous seasons.

It's a fairly common practice for Twitch to partner with various big games to give away in-game items for Twitch Prime subscribers. Titles including Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have handed out digital loot if you use Twitch Prime. The upshot is that in the US and some other countries, Twitch Prime is included with Amazon Prime--so if you already use Amazon's services, you're pretty much claiming free gaming loot, too. Check out the full list of what's coming for Twitch Prime subscribers in February.

Destiny 2 has had a couple of big weeks for streamers lately, thanks to the Corridors of Time secret quest that had a huge portion of the Destiny 2 community working together to solve a giant in-game puzzle. Solving the Corridors of Time's maze led to early access to Destiny 2's latest Exotic weapon, Bastion, as well as some new story tidbits. As of the January 28 weekly reset, the Corridors are no longer accessible in Destiny 2, making the event one of the "you had to be there" moments Bungie says it's trying to push with its new approach to seasonal content.

While you might be able to get some in-game Destiny 2 goodies through Twitch Prime at some point soon, you'll have to wait to actually play the game. Bungie's latest Destiny patch, Update 2.7.1, has squashed a lot of bugs that have persisted through the Season of Dawn, but introduced a new one that's apparently stealing some players' Glimmer, Bright Dust, and Legendary Shards currencies. Bungie took its Destiny 2 servers down for emergency maintenance while it tries to figure out the problem.
