Gears of War: Judgment finishes first, but can't match the success of Gears of War 3.
Gears of War: Judgment has emerged at the top of the UK charts in its first week on sale, pushing Tomb Raider down to second place.
While Gears of War: Judgment topped the chart, Gears of War 3 sold more than four times as many copies back in its opening week in September 2011.
Activision's The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, a first-person shooter based on the AMC TV show that is just about to conclude its third season, debuts in third place.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which was released last week on the 3DS and Wii U, lands in seventh place, behind FIFA 13, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and God of War: Ascension.
Fifty-five per cent of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's sales were on the 3DS, with 45 per cent going to the Wii U.
Rounding out the top 10 is SimCity in eighth, Far Cry 3 in ninth, and Call of Duty: Black Ops II in 10th.
Other chart movement sees Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm drop 20 places to 23rd, and Aliens: Colonial Marines creep up from 21st to 16th. Nintendo Land also enters the UK chart for the first time in 2013 at 39th.
