Yesterday, to correspond with her debut in the new episode of Star Wars: Rebels, USA Today was given the exclusive reveal of Hasbro’s new Princess Leia Organna action figure.  This new figure, based on Leia’s appearance on the animated series on the DisneyXD channel will be released by Hasbro this Fall.

This the release of a figure of this younger version of Leia Organa is significant for several reasons.  One is helps squash the rumor that Hasbro has something against women figures in the Star Wars lines.  Two it shows us that Hasbro still has faith in Star Wars: Rebels products and that we will hopefully continue to get new figures based on the great animated series.  And three, if her outfit looks at all familiar , then you know that it was based on the early sketches of Leia by the late great Ralph McQuarrie.  More McQuarrie is always a good thing!
