Using Microsoft’s New Twin Detector on Video Game Characters

Following the company's excellent age-guessing app last month, Microsoft on Friday launched a new program called Twins or Not. As its name suggests, the very simple website lets you upload two photos, and then Microsoft's program does an analysis to determine how similar the subjects look.

Twins or Not then assigns a score on a scale of 0-100.

Of course we had to try it out with video game characters. First up, not that it's much of a surprise, but Twins or Not agrees that Activision did a great job with its virtual version of Kevin Spacey in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. A percent 100 score.

Next we tried comparing Ellie from The Last of Us to Ellen Page, who claimed Naughty Dog "ripped off" her likeness for the post-apocalyptic game.

Page also worked on a video game of her own, Beyond: Two Souls, lending her voice and likeness to the game.

And then there's Desmon Miles from Assassin's Creed and Red Faction's Alec Mason.

We also tried some totally random comparisons, such as Nathan Drake and BJ Blazkowicz.

You can also use the tool find out which video game character could be your twin. This is probably only helpful for Halloween parties or if you're into cosplay, but it's still fun to try.

Here's my ugly mug next to Chris Pine from that Star Trek game. It's the best match I could find.

What two characters do you think look alike? Let us know and we might add them to this post.
