Video Premiere: Fitz And The Tantrums, ‘Out Of My League’

Fitz and the Tantrums are back with some new dance moves in their "Out Of My League" video.

"You were out of my league," Michael Fitzpatrick croons on Fitz and the Tantrums' new single, and the guy's not singing about our favorite Jay Baruchel movie. Not that the band's new "Out Of My League" video doesn't bring the comedy. The soulful Los Angeles rockers show their sillier side in the More Than Just a Dream lead single's new video, which opens with a neon beating heart. Things only get more playful from there, with Fitzpatrick's adorably dorky dance moves segueing into the band turning into glitchy animations that look ready to chill with Daft Punk. Baruchel's probably just doing their choreography.

Best known for retro-tipped singles like "Don't Gotta Work It Out" and "MoneyGrabber," Fitz's music hasn't lost its Motown groove -- "Out Of My League" positively bounces with soul, climbing into an anthemic synth-pop chorus that snaps, crackles, and pops with Kate Bush-style keyboard hiccups. We're falling in love already. More Than Just a Dream -- the band's major-label debut -- is due on Elektra on May 7, just in time to soundtrack finals week summer fling fantasies or nerd-oriented big-screen romantic comedies. Maybe both! It's 2013: We can make that happen. Hang on, we're calling Paul Rudd.
