Foster the People work their magic on "Houdini."
Foster The People's "Houdini" video's not for the faint of heart, folks: the L.A. band's latest kicks off with -- SPOILER! -- the trio dying in a horrible production accident during the shoot. Ouch. Don't worry, it's easy on the gore. But thanks to some Hollywood innovation and a mysterious video-rescue squad, they're quickly turned into reanimated People-puppets.

The band comes back to life in time to finish the video shoot, bust some choreographed moves and play a show -- as animatronic robots! We're not sure if the band's trying to comment on pop stardom (via *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye," obvi), Disneyland or Data from "Star Trek: The Next Generation," but the Foster androids are totally welcome to come hang out and play secret shows in our kitchen.
The band pulled the upbeat "Houdini" out of its hat way back on its first EP last year, but the track still works its synthesizer magic. And if you're on to the next, Foster The People dropped a new single over the weekend, the laid-back Record Store Day "Broken Jaw"/"Ruby" 7". They plan on having more music soon: "Hopefully we'll have a song or two out by the end of the year," Mark Foster told NME, with an album anticipated for 2013.
