When you’re a Master of the Universe, and you’re having a lot of sword battles, it makes sense to wear some armor. Usually Skeletor gets by with a bone harness and a loincloth, but for serious business he puts on his battle armor. The Super Powers line is alive and well under the stewardship of McFarlane Toys, but if you’re looking for some OG figures, look no further! This 12-back Batman from 1984 features Power Action Bat Punch, and is ungraded, so you can get it graded yourself for posterity or simply open it up and play with it. C’mon, you know you want to.

Hake’s – KNICKERBOCKER LORD OF THE RINGS (1979) – LOOSE ACTION FIGURE GOLLUM UKG 80%. (hakes.com)

While Lord of the Rings is a powerhouse property today, in 1979, 25 years after the book was published, all we got was an animated film by Ralph Bakshi and an underproduced line of six action figures, plus two horses. Opinions on both vary, but one of the smallest figures in the toy line was Gollum, which made him easy to lose and therefore hard to find now. Luckily, he had no accessories, so if you find him off-card, like this graded example, you still have everything you need. Is he your precious? Pick him up for a steal.

Another shirtless warrior, Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living was like the Super Saiyan form of a decrepit old mummy who lived in a giant pyramid. One of the original residents of Third Earth, he was always messing with the local aliens, the Thundercats, and he used his light-up eyes, battle-matic action and secret power ring to do just that. This 80-graded version could be the centerpiece of your shirtless warrior collection!

Finding a Clash of the Titans Calibos figure in 1980 was easy – they did not sell well, and ended up getting clearanced. But finding one today, on an unpunched card, with a grade of 80 from the AFA, is a little harder. Pick up this piece of film history, a prime example of the work of Ray Harryhausen, for your personal movie memorabilia collection.
