Ariana Grande performs with Jimmy Fallon… Or is that Stevie Nicks?
By now you’re probably all too aware that Ariana Grande‘s Yours Truly is one of the most impeccable releases of 2013. (It hasn’t even been out a full two weeks, and we’re still calling it.)
Oh, wait, you’re NOT aware? No prob! Easy fix: Watch Ariana teleport back to the ’90s in her “Blossom”-inspired “Baby I” video, listen to her melisma-laden pipes in “Piano,” and finally, check out her UNREAL appearance on last night’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” where she casually performed Broadway versions of famous rap hooks. Like, we’re talking Jay Z‘s “99 Problems.” ENJOY!

Bantering with a blonde-wig-wearing Jimmy on piano (??), Ariana wore a billowing “Gone With The Wind”/Scarlett O’Hara ensemble as she and Jimmy took turns singing some of today’s best-known rap hooks. Kind of like in “Cats”! Or maybe “Les Miserables”? Fine, “Phantom Of The Opera” if we’re being picky.
Oh, and by “best-known rap hooks,” we literally mean monstrous hip-hop records like Cypress Hill’s “Insane In The Brain” and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis‘ “Thrift Shop.” If this doesn’t earn Ariana a spot on “SNL,” then we literally don’t know what will. #HINTHINTHINT.
