Atlas Genius strips back "Trojans" in this "Buzzworthy Live" acoustic session.

Almost a year ago, Australian act Atlas Genius were introducing themselves to the U.S. on MTV's "120 Minutes." Since they started 2012 off right for us, we're letting 'em finish up the year, too. (No, thank you, fellas.) For their stripped-down "Buzzworthy Live" performance, the quartet scales down to just singer/guitarist Keith Jeffrey. Surrounded by bare bulbs and quietly musing into the microphone, he sings and strums the melancholic track.

The simple version reveals the ordinarily ecstatic, synth-aided song's wounds, making the lyrical metaphor -- a reference to the wooden horse of legend, not the USC football team or an, um, important safety device -- the track's heartbroken centerpiece. Not that the band needs any tricks to get "Trojans" in our heads. The group's Through the Glass EP is out now, and you can pick up their debut album, When It Was Now, when it drops on Feb. 19, 2013.
