Watch Avril Lavigne perform "Here's To Never Growing Up" live.
Seemingly ageless pop player Avril Lavigne has had an epic career for someone who hasn't even hit 30. I mean, she was only 17 years old when she first skateboarded onto the pop scene (and into our hearts) with songs like "Complicated" and "I'm With You" -- but still, Avril hasn't so much as gained a mid-20s forehead wrinkle or worry line since 2002. #TellMeYourSkinRoutine.
Now, over a decade since wreaking mall havoc and recalling tales of punks hooking up with ballet dancers ("Sk8er Boi"), Avril's prepping her upcoming fifth studio album and has just released a brand-new ode to youth, "Here's To Never Growing Up," which she recently performed live at Buzzworthy's studios.

Kicking off her performance by introducing her longtime guitarists, Evan Taubenfeld (who has a major following of his own) and Devin Bronson, Avril sang a soft "one, two, three" before launching into a scorching, perfectly on-pitch acoustic rendition of her new single.
"The song's obviously about not wanting to grow up and being young forever. It's a state of mind," Avril told us about her new track. "I guess I'm the same [since "Complicated"]. I'm just older -- so, [I'm] a little more grown up. Same person, same personality."
As she spoke, it was impossible to miss the ginormous ice sculpture on Avril's left hand, so of course we had to ask about her fiancé and "Here's To Never Growing Up" cowriter, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. "Well, we met working on this record and were working on a few songs together. We were all sitting around with acoustic guitars, and I wanted to write something fun. I didn't want to write something serious. I wanted it to be a summer song. It was very nostalgic. We were all just sitting around talking about things we liked to do [when we were growing up]."
And speaking of being/looking young, just how does she manage to still look, well, 17 years old? "For skin, I don't go in the sun, and I eat lots of vegetables and drink lots of water," said Avril. "[And] I love night cream."
Hmmm, suddenly we're feeling much better about avoiding the great outdoors. Avril Lavigne = our "skinspiration."
