Cillie Barnes hosts the summer's first garden party in her new "Brainwash" lyric video.
With the weather warming up, it's hard not to fantasize about backyard BBQs, cold beverages, and impromptu outdoor shows lit only by twilight, vintage chandeliers, and leftover Christmas lights. And just in case you couldn't wait any longer to commandeer someone's backyard with beer-filled mason jars and kale chips, now you can bridge the gap from May to June with Cillie Barnes' "Brainwash" lyric video: a haunting, lush indie folk ballad and the Los Angeles singer's debut track since her time as Vanessa Long with Family Of The Year. (Oh yeah, she changed her name!) But unlike Family Of The Year's sparkly pop indie ensemble approach, Cillie channels the mysterious manic pixie alt-folk vibe of Thao With The Get Down Stay Down -- so it makes perfect sense that "Brainwash"'s lyric video would produce a romantic, flea market-y, "summer in Brooklyn" feeling.
