We're loving Ed Sheeran's acoustic cover of Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time"!

Ed Sheeran certainly loves cozying up to blonde pop stars! OK, that was totally gossipy, but it's just a little too coincidental that so far we've seen him chill with his BFF and musical cohort Taylor Swift, and now he's covering Britney Spears' classic single "Baby One More Time." Yes, we know that covering Britney Spears doesn't actually mean he's cozying up to her, but cut us break! We can dream, right? Think of the possible duets!

The MTV PUSH alum recently stopped by NOW 100.5 FM radio station in Sacramento where he put his own organic, "I'm a singer-songwriter" spin on Britney's first-ever pop hit. Ed flubbed the lyrics a tad, but he looked so lovely and endearing covering Queen Britney that we didn't mind or care one bit. Naturally, Ed slayed the vocal game -- so much so that we didn't even miss the original's signature  "dun dun dun" synth. We're wondering, Ed, might you consider covering Mandy Moore's "Candy" next? Time for that jam to have a proper comeback!
