Jessie J nails the stripped-down version of her new single, "Wild."
Jessie J is probably the most badass vocal presence in the game right now, which is why we've been chomping at the bit for a taste of her forthcoming single, "Wild." Cowritten by Jessie's partner in crime, Claude Kelly (he wrote Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A.," Olly Murs' "Troublemaker," and Jessie J's "Price Tag"), "Wild" will be the first single off Jessie's sophomore album (release date TBD), and will feature assists from Big Sean and Dizzee Rascal. Unfortunately, "Wild" hasn't dropped in full yet, but to chill us out while we wait, Jessie has just unveiled a minute-long, acoustic preview!
Watch Jessie J perform an acoustic preview of "Wild" after the jump.
While we have a hunch that the official version will be an uptempo, high-energy track, we'll take what we assume is a slowed-down, stripped-down version of "Wild" any day. In her lush, silky vocals, and with the help of some gospel-tinged backup singers, Jessie chants the song's hook: "If this is a dream, won't open my eyes/ Am I asleep? No, I'm alive/I just can’t believe that this is my life/In my fantasy, we're running wild." Yeah, well, it IS your life, sister, and did we mention we're really jealous of it? Like, not only can you sing, but HELLO, your midsection is MAD TONED! Amazing abs and amazing pipes: What more could a gal ask for?
