Microsoft released a new trailer showing off Kan-Ra, a new fighter that'll be added to Killer Instinct tomorrow, and a tease for the next character: Riptor. Kan-Ra is a 2,500-year-old sorcerer from Babylon who's cursed by dark magic that causes him to rot, which is the reason why he is covered in bandages. Once the trailer is done showing us him pummeling his opponent with special moves and long combos, we see the Ultratech logo on screen, and after a preamble, a very brief glimpse at Riptor. Riptor, if you haven't played the original game, is a creature created by Ultratech that has both human and reptilian DNA. Microsoft Studios creative director Adam Isgreen recently clarified the schedule for monthly new character releases. "'Every month' could more accurately be represented as 'every calendar month' instead of every 30 days," Isgreen said. Killer Instinct shipped on the same day as the Xbox One launch, with Jago available to play for free. Players could unlock other characters and items by paying a fee. Killer Instinct developer Double Helix was acquired by Amazon earlier this year, casting doubt on continued support for the Xbox One fighter. Microsoft claimed the game would not be affected and said that the franchise, which it owns, would continue on.
