Watch: Live Speedrun Turns Into Marriage Proposal

Here's something nice to warm your heart as we head into the weekend. During the charity speedrunning event Awesome Games Done Quick, one gamer not only successfully zipped through Mischief Makers, but he also proposed to his girlfiend during his run.

"I love you very much. And I'm going to love you forever," the man, "Jackafur," says, before getting down on one knee. "So I wanted to ask you if you would marry me." Clearly surprised by the question, she eventually says yes. They embrace, and the crowd erupts. D'aww.

The proposal, which starts at around 1:15 in the video above, takes place during a cutscene. It was indeed a heartfelt and touching scene, but the reaction of the guy in the background is also pretty priceless.

Awesome Games Done Quick, which raises money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation by speedrunning games, started on January 4 and runs through January 10. You can see the event's full programming schedule here, featuring the games to be played and details on where you can watch.

So far, this year's Awesome Games Done Quick has raised more than $587,000.

For those unfamiliar, speedrunning is the process of playing through a game as quickly as possible. Speedruns are particularly fun and sometimes bewildering to watch because they require expert skill, lots of planning, and sometimes the use of tricks.
