Watch Rita Ora perform "How We Do" and "R.I.P." on the "MTV Unplugged" stage.
British party-pop songstress Rita Ora has been circling the industry for a few years now (see Jay-Z as her boss), but chances are you spent much of this past summer raging to jams like The Notorious B.I.G.-influenced "How We Do (Party)," and "R.I.P.," and then picking your jaw off the ground after witnessing Rita's visually stunning red carpet look at the 2012 MTV VMAs. (Girl's even been nominated for the "Best New" MTV EMA award!) But now after watching her "MTV Unplugged" performance, we're totally in LOVE with Rita's ultra-comfortable, powerful stage presence.

Standing on on a softly-lit stage surrounded by twinkling lights (gotta love that butterfly hanging out on the mic), Rita's performance showcased select tracks from her debut album "Ora," such as the 2012's summer party anthem "How We Do (Party)," "R.I.P." (co-written by the one and only Drake), "Shine Ya Light," and "Roc The Life." Although she spent the set accompanied by two acoustic guitars, light drums, and piano, Rita had no trouble lighting up the "Unplugged" stage with her own raw energy, obvious enthusiasm, and wide vocal range. We were particularly in love with the slow vocal build on the emotionally reflective "R.I.P." and were downright entranced by the reggae-tinged "Shine Ya Light." And as you may have seen in last week's "Unplugged" preview, Rita also took the party-centric "How We Do" down a notch for a stripped-down, all-acoustic rendition -- but that just goes to show: you can take the girl out of the party, but you can't take the party out of the girl.
