WALK THE MOON strip down Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Maps" for "MTV Unplugged."
When they're not making indie rock songs of the summer -- still living for "Anna Sun," to be honest -- WALK THE MOON must be DVR-ing a lot of "The Sing-Off" on the tour bus. Because for their upcoming "MTV Unplugged" special, the preternaturally gifted Cincinnati group covers the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Maps" a cappella.
The harmony-filled rendition of the indie classic gets a rhythm section from the quartet's creative clapping and stomping, though Nicholas Petricca sweetly delivering the indelible hook -- "Wait, they don't love you like I love you" -- has to be the highlight. Oh, and leave it to WALK THE MOON to have sweet kicks, too. Look for the band's full "Unplugged" performance when it premieres Monday, Aug. 6, presented by State Farm.
