Earlier this week, Wiz Kids released their latest set of HeroClix, Justice League: Trinity War. If you’ve been reading here a while, you know I am a huge fan of both the game and the Justice League, so this is a set aimed right at me.
JL TW Single Figure Dispenser Box
The set name does a good job of suggesting what you might find when you open a typical 5 piece booster from this set. Across the commons, uncommons, rares and super rares are the majority of the members of the current DC Universe versions of the Justice League, Justice League of America, Justice League Dark, Crime Syndicate, Secret Society of Super Villains and Luthor’s own (in)Justice League. What the title will not tell you is that there is a nice little subset covering the major players of Throne of Atlantis, recently released as DC/WB Animation’s latest movie.

So what are the big character draws in this set?
New versions of big name characters: Superman, Batman, Martain Manhunter, Constantine.
Remakes of characters long unseen. The Crime Syndicate.
New characters to the game. From long time characters like the Shaggy Man to brand new characters like Atomica.
Generics if you like army building. Atlanteans, Parademons and Black Gate Prison Inmates.
Hey Look! Its Harry Potter!
Wiz Kids has been running previews of individual pieces of the set for a while on their site. I suggest a visit to see some good description write ups. PREVIEWS
So how can you buy these? Prices are suggested retail.
5 figure blind booster boxes retailing for about $12.99.
17 commons
16 uncommons
16 rares
12 super rares
and a few other things (more below)
Single figure blind bags (same sculpts – different dials) for $2.99.
note – single figures are limited to the 10 pieces shown on the sides of the box they come in. Do not rely on the art on the bag. Avail figs are: Aquaman, Mera, Atlantean, Trench, Luthor, Green Arrow, Firestorm, Parademon, Black Orchid, DEO Agent. Ignore the art.
Crime Syndicate Fast Forces (6 figures) – $16.99.
There is an even bigger grouping you can buy. 10 boosters saran wrapped together – this is known as a brick. There are a number of surprise or chase elements hidden in the boosters this time around. Buying a booster might get you one of these. Buying a brick – on average – should net you 1 chase, 1 prime, 2 to 3 special objects and 3 SRs.

For a better idea of what you might pull, can I suggest watching an unboxing video? DC Comics did their own – follow the link. Note that the final scans of pieces shown are not entirely what was pulled. They show a 2nd chase plus the Marian Manhunter and Despero, both of whom are super rares.
I should mention the other way to buy these. Since they are blind boxed, you never really know what you will get. One way around that is individual and group lots on the secondary market. For example, on Thursday I bought a full set of commons, uncommons and rares (49 pieces) for 49.99 shipped. Then I bought the Despero super rare for less than the price of a booster (Note: Several of the super rares are going for less than the price of a booster right now). No chance of randomly getting a great piece this way, but you do get exactly what you want.
